Prepare o despertador! Neste fim de semana, a Fórmula 1 vai para o outro lado do mundo acelerar nas vias do Albert Park para mais uma edição do GP da Austrália. Com uma diferença de 14 horas no fuso horário, as atividades em Melbourne acontecerão na madrugada brasileira.
Apenas um ponto separa Max Verstappen de Sergio Pérez, com uma vitória para cada na temporada até aqui. Mas o grande destaque desse começo de campeonato é, sem dúvidas, Fernando Alonso. Em seu primeiro ano com a Aston Martin, o espanhol acumula dois pódios e está em terceiro no Mundial.
Por outro lado, Ferrari e Mercedes tentam se reerguer após um início de temporada complicado. A Mercedes pode estar empatada no Mundial com a Aston, mas vive uma grande crise, admitindo a necessidade de trocar completamente o conceito do carro.
Já a Ferrari quer se juntar à luta pelo segundo lugar, tendo sofrido com o abandono de Charles Leclerc no Bahrein e a punição pela troca no componente da unidade de potência do monegasco em Jeddah.
Pela primeira vez, a passagem da F1 por Melbourne contará com a presença das Fórmulas 2 e 3.
Na Fórmula 3, temos liderança brasileira. Com vitória na corrida principal do Bahrein, Gabriel Bortoleto chega a Melbourne na primeira posição do campeonato, com 26 pontos, três a mais que Oliver Goethe. Caio Collet, pódio na primeira prova do Sakhir, é o oitavo, com oito pontos, enquanto Roberto Faria ainda busca pontuar pela primeira vez.
