Eliminado do Campeonato Paulista, o Santos FC volta todas as suas atenções para a disputa da Copa do Brasil. Nesta quinta-feira (9), no estádio Urbano Caldeira, na Vila Belmiro, às 21h30, o Peixe enfrenta o Iguatu-CE, pela 1ª. rodada da 2ª. fase da competição.
Após o fracasso, no Paulistão, o técnico santista Odair Hellmann segue ameaçado no cargo. Fora das quatro linhas, um fato curioso tem chamado a atenção no que se refere à partida entre as equipes. É que o presidente do time cearense, Antonio Dias, é torcedor declarado do Santos FC.
O Iguatu, que não esperava participar da Copa do Brasil, eliminou o América de Natal-RN na 1ª. fase da competição, e a equipe encara o Santos, fora de casa, acreditando em um bom resultado e na classificação, conforme o seu presidente.
Por sua vez, o Santos não terá o apoio de seus torcedores nas arquibancadas da Vila Belmiro. Acontece que o clube foi punido pela CBF, com perda de dois mandos de campo, por conta da tentativa de agressão de um torcedor contra o goleiro Cássio do Corinthians, no jogo do ano passado, que culminou com a eliminação da equipe santista da disputa.
Dentro das quatro linhas, Odair Hellmann não poderá contar com o zagueiro Joaquim Henrique, lesionado no tornozelo, e deve mandar à campo o seguinte time: João Paulo; João Lucas, Maicon, Eduardo Bauermann e Felipe Jonatan; Rodrigo Fernández, Dodi e Lucas Lima; Lucas Barbosa, Mendoza e Marcos Leonardo.
