A Petit Le Mans, etapa de 10 horas que encerrou a temporada do IMSA SportsCar, terminou na noite deste sábado (12) em Road Atlant ae vencida pelo Cadillac V-Series R #01 da Chip Ganassi, guiado por Renger van der Zande, Scott Dixon e Sebastien Bourdais. O pódio foi completado pelas duas Porsche 963 da Penske, com o #7, do brasileiro Felipe Nasr e Dane Cameron, cruzando a linha em terceiro e assegurando o título da classe principal , a GTP.
A dupla recebeu o reforço de Matt Campbell para esta prova e aproveitou para faturar a taça ainda com a Petit Le Mans em andamento.
Com pouco mais de 5h30m restantes, apenas nove carros da GTP estavam vivos na disputa após os abandonos do BMW #25 e do Porsche #85. Precisando ficar no top-9 para assegurar a conquista, o Porsche #7 já era matematicamente campeão àquela altura da corrida.
Já na reta final de prova, mais abandonos aconteceram, quando o Ford Mustang GT3 #55 da Proton se acidentou com o Acura ARX-06 #10 da Wayne Taylor/Andretti, segundo colocado geral. O incidente forçou uma bandeira amarela e agrupou o pelotão quando o Porsche #6 liderava, seguido pelo Cadillac #01.
No recomeço da prova, Nick Tandy foi ultrapassado por Renger van der Zande, que assumiu a ponta para a Cadillac e nunca mais largou. Ainda assim, já nos instantes derradeiros, o carro #01 sofreu um problema de iluminação dos faróis que poderia ter forçado o piloto neerlandês a fazer um pit-stop. No entanto, o reparo não foi necessário e a vitória foi confirmada depois de 443 voltas em Road Atlanta.
Completando o pódio, Tandy segurou a segunda colocação com a Porsche #6 e Nasr comandou o #7 à terceira colocação no último stint.

Já na LMP2, outro brasileiro ficou no pódio. Felipe Fraga, Gar Robinson e Josh Burdon terminaram em segundo na classe com o Oreca #74 da Riley, enquanto o título ficou com o Oreca #52 da Inter Europol de Jakub Śmiechowski, Tom Dillmann e Nick Boulle.
Na pista, a vitória da Petit Le Mans foi para Hunter McElrea, Mikkel Jensen e Steven Thomas no Oreca #11 da TDS.
Na GTD Pro, Daniel Serra, Alessandro Pier Guidi e Davide Rigon cruzaram a linha de chegada em segundo com o Ferrari 296 GT3 #62. Jordan Pepper, Mirko Bortolotti e Franck Perera foram os grandes vencedores com o Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo 2 #19 e o Porsche 911 GT3 R #77 do trio Laurin Heinrich/Michael Christensen/Julien Andlauer foi campeão da temporada.
Por fim, Cedric Sbirrazzuoli, Albert Costa Balboa e Manny Franco venceram na classe GTD com o Ferrari 296 GT3 #34.
