Corinthians x Grêmio fazem o único jogo desta quinta-feira (25), válido pela 19ª. rodada do Campeonato Brasileiro Série A. Motivado e bastante confiante, após a vitória fora de casa, sobre o Bahia, no último final de semana por 1×0, gol do atacante Angel Romero, o Corinthians recebe o Grêmio na Neo Química Arena, às 20 horas, disposto a somar mais três pontos na competição e distanciar-se ainda mais da zona de rebaixamento. O Timão é o 14º. colocado com 18 pontos.
Para o jogo desta noite, o técnico corinthiano Ramón Diaz terá o meio-campo Igor Coronado novamente à disposição, assim como o meia Raniele que retorna de suspensão automática. Porém, Diaz não terá o zagueiro Gustavo Henrique e o volante Alex Santana suspensos com terceiro cartão amarelo.
Em situação bastante complicada no campeonato, o Grêmio ocupa a perigosa 18ª. colocação com 14 pontos ganhos e apenas 4 vitórias em 16 jogos disputados. A seu favor, o Tricolor Gaúcho tem dois jogos a menos, devido aos adiamentos em decorrência das chuvas que castigaram recentemente o Rio Grande do Sul. Na rodada anterior, um alento para o torcedor gremista, com o triunfo sobre o Vitória por 2×0.
Para enfrentar o Corinthians, a novidade no time gremista pode ser o retorno do atacante Cristaldo, recuperado de lesão muscular. O técnico Renato Portaluppi estuda promover as estreias do zagueiro Jemerson, do atacante chileno Aravena e do meio-campo colombiano Monsalve, recém contratados.
