Na tarde de terça-feira (7), o São Bento de Sorocaba, uma das equipes rebaixadas no Paulistão, ao lado da Ferroviária de Araraquara protocolou um ofício junto à entidade máxima do futebol paulista, questionando a legalidade do jogo entre Portuguesa de Desportos x Corinthians, realizado em Brasília-DF, no dia 12 de fevereiro, que terminou empatado em 0x0, pela 8ª rodada da 1ª. fase do campeonato estadual.
No documento, o clube sorocabano questionava se a Portuguesa teve autorização da FPF para realizar o jogo na capital federal. Porém, ainda na terça-feira (7), ao final da tarde, a Federação emitiu nota, na qual, informa que a Portuguesa teve sim autorização do Departamento Técnico da entidade para alterar o local da partida e agiu conforme o regulamento geral da competição, frustrando dessa forma as aspirações do São Bento que, tentou obter fora das quatro linhas, o que não obteve dentro delas, ou seja, a permanência da equipe, na divisão do elite do Campeonato Paulista. Por conta disso, ontem mesmo, o São Bento iniciou as rescisões contratuais do elenco que disputou o Paulistão. A permanência do técnico Paulo Roberto Santos será decidida nos próximos dias pela diretoria do Azulão de Sorocaba.
