A transformação de Rio Claro em polo de desenvolvimento de políticas públicas na produção de alimentos saudáveis e difusão da agroecologia para todo o estado foi discutida nesta quarta-feira (14), em São Paulo, durante reunião entre o secretário estadual de Agricultura, Francisco Matturro, o deputado Aldo Demarchi, o prefeito Gustavo Perissinotto e o diretor municipal de Silvicultura, Sérgio Litholdo.
Também participaram a líder do Grupo de Orgânicos da Coordenadoria de Assistência Técnica Integral, Araci Kamiyama, e Arnaldo de Freitas, assessor parlamentar do deputado Itamar Borges.
Na oportunidade, Gustavo entregou ofício em que resume um histórico da relação de Rio Claro com a agricultura natural desde 1982, quando Aldo Demarchi, no exercício do cargo de prefeito, assinou convênio com a fundação Mokiti Okada para implantação de um programa-piloto no Horto de Ajapi.
O documento cita ainda, entre outras coisas, leis municipais e a Lei 16.684 – de iniciativa de Aldo Demarchi – que instituiu em 2017 a Política Estadual de Agroecologia e Produção Orgânica (PEAPO) e foi regulamentada em fevereiro deste ano.
A proposta sugere a instalação de um departamento do estado em Rio Claro para fornecer o suporte técnico e define um cronograma de ações de curto, médio e longo prazos, com início em fevereiro de 2023. Francisco Matturro deu sinal verde à ideia e se comprometeu a agilizar todos os procedimentos necessários para que o projeto seja viabilizado o mais rápido possível.
